Summer usually means vacations, and one place a lot of people go is the beach. So here are a few vintage illustrations of life on the beach back in the olden days. 'Under the boardwalk, down by the sea, on a blanket with my baby, is where I'll be' ...... That's the tune in my head! 🏖⛱🏄🌊 👙👣⚓🛥🏊🩱

Another rainy Friday, at least in these five free files. On a different note, Google has informed me that the 'subscribe by email' feature for their blog service is going away in July. I enjoyed sharing a winter theme last week, so I am doing it again with an emphasis on skating. (Except the last photo. This blog post is running late!! Today has been a busy day. (Actually, the whole week has been!) But, there is the old cliche` Better late than never! Today's offering are two advertising goodies from a magazine, dated in the 1800's. Two gorgeous men's hat adverts, in the original blue and a sepia version. Since I don't 'do' the typical holidays that most people do, I thought I would share a representation of the fall seasonal with a market harvest. Those who make gardens are gathering in the crops this time of year. As usual, there are three versions: bright, faded, and sepia. Hello fellow crafters! This week I thought I would change things up a little. In my search to find five files to share, I happened across this woman in orange playing a trombone. And, with the the name of the song, all I could think of was the Wizard of Oz. So, I have curated all the sheet music, plus made a duplicate cover in a sepia wash. I will be starting a new free-file give away in my group The Repository  beginning next week, and I will be calling it The Stamp Stockroom. This will be a random collection of illustrations that I share as digital stamps with a transparent background, so keep a lookout for the album. This week has been different than any I have experienced in a long time. My husband was on vacation and, instead of going someplace where we would be restricted, we decided to do a 'stay-cation' and spend our money in local antique stores and thrift stores.
